Festivals and Fairs

It is perhaps one of the most anticipated moments of the year. During the days of the Málaga Fair, by day the city dresses up around Calle Larios. At night, the party moves to Cortijo de Torres, better known as “El Real,” a place with more than 80 hectares where the scents of the fair stalls, the colorful flamenco dresses, and the rhythm of verdiales and brass bands awaken all the senses. And for those who can last until the end of the night, it’s worth returning to the city center, the Plaza de la Constitución, to enjoy a comforting typical Málaga breakfast: an Antequera mollete, with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, tomato, and serrano ham. Historic Center Leisure Areas

The Plaza del Marqués del Vado del Maestre, commonly known as Plaza Mitjana, and its surroundings, are the key spots where Málaga’s nightlife begins. Numerous cocktail bars and some of the most famous nightclubs, such as Malafama Club, Theatro Club Málaga, and Sala Gold, are scattered throughout the network of streets leading to another key place for going out in central Málaga, Uncibay Square.
This modern square, renovated in 1989 and dominated by a large pillar in the center, is another space where young people (and not-so-young) gather to start the night. Mostly occupied by terraces of bars and restaurants, cocktail bars and nightclubs are scattered around its surroundings.
